UCM's Performing Arts Series To Feature The Osmonds Christmas Show

December 9, 2011

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri will celebrate the holiday season with the Osmonds Christmas Show at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 in Hendricks Hall.

The legendary Osmond Brothers - Wayne, Merrill and Jay - will share their classic vocal harmonies that have been honed over decades of performing with the Osmond family in a concert of Christmas favorites.

The Osmond Brothers' career began in “barbershop” as young boys, and it is that familiar harmony that has become the signature on their music. They skillfully play several musical instruments among them, and they dance, write music, and create an electricity between stage and audience that can only be felt during an Osmond performance.

The Osmond family has collectively been awarded 47 gold and platinum records, and they have surpassed the best single year successes of both Elvis and the Beatles by being honored with nine gold records in 1971.

The Osmond Brothers have created a niche all their own in the field of entertainment. Their remarkable success with pop, rock and roll, country, and gospel music has enabled them to touch audiences both young and old, and every age in between. Sold-out engagements from Las Vegas to the United Kingdom have been synonymous with the name Osmond since their early years in the entertainment business.

Tickets for the Dec. 17 performance are available from the Performing Arts Series box office in Administration 100 on the UCM campus, by calling the box office at 660-543-8888, or online at ucmpas.com.

The Osmonds Christmas Show is sponsored by 1450 KOKO radio, Warrensburg.
